The Brentwood Cool Springs Chamber is proud to present the 2010 YPC Career Development Series, providing in-depth learning for young professional business leaders. Designed exclusively for the Chamber, the series is presented in partnership with the Scarlett Leadership Institute at Belmont University and the Lipscomb University College of Business, School of Executive Education. The 10-month Professional Development Series will be lead by recognized authors, professors and business leaders

Speaker: Melanie Adams
Instructor/Curriculum Developer with the Scarlett Leadership
Melanie works as an Instructor/Curriculum Developer with the Scarlett Leadership Institute at Belmont University. She writes and teaches material that focuses on effective communication as the cornerstone of success in leadership and management roles. Melanie teaches courses such as Personal and Organizational Communication, Conflict Resolution, Coaching and Development for Optimal Performance, and Strategic Alignment, as well as many others. Melanie’s professional research interests include topics like emotional intelligence, managing the generations, change management, strategic organizational communication, transformational leadership and persuasion in leadership.
Melanie has worked for BellSouth Business both as a Project Team Manager as well as an Instructor and Curriculum Developer. She worked as an instructor for BellSouth University and as a member of the regional executive team of Tennessee and Kentucky as the training and development specialist. Melanie also was one of the first graduates of the Leadership Excellence program within her organization.
Melanie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management from Tusculum College and a Master’s degree in Organizational Communication from Murray State University.
Melanie resides in Nashville with her four-year-old daughter and husband and is actively engaged in her community.
