Prior to starting the firm, he worked 30 years in the energy industry where he held key managerial and executive positions in both key corporate staff and operations functions. He spent 16 years in Human Resources with a Fortune 250 Energy Company working in a variety of functional areas and management positions including head of Human Resources. The last 14 years was spent in field operations, where he was responsible for the operations and maintenance of the company’s largest operating division. He was promoted to Vice President of Eastern Operations where he had general management responsibilities for operating and maintaining three large interstate pipeline systems and one of the nation’s four Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) receiving terminals. These systems comprised over 1,300 employees, 30,000 miles of pipeline in 25 states, 165 plants with annual operating budgets in excess of $400 million.
He was active in key leadership roles within the energy industry and has served on the Southern Gas Association’s Corporate Telelink Network (CTN) Board of Directors, Chairman of Interstate Natural Gas Association of American (INGAA) Security Committee, Vice Chairperson of the Oil and Natural Gas Security Coordinating Council and a member of the National Infrastructure Advisory Committee (NIAC) Pandemic Work Group.
David left the industry in 2007 and founded the David Jones Group which provides management consulting, executive coaching, and leadership training and workshops to businesses seeking to quickly improve and sustain both employee and organization performance.
David also has hands-on experience with mergers and acquisitions. His employer went through three separate multi-billion dollar mergers, and he was selected to lead the merger transition team responsible for consolidating and realigning the operatons, technical services, engineering, financial and commercial functions of the organizations.
